Qualcomm has announced the general availability of its LTE Broadcast Software Development Kit (SDK) via the Qualcomm Developer Network, reports Telecompaper.com, on Sept 24, then adding that the LTE Broadcast SDK is designed to help software developers create applications that access the benefits of LTE Broadcast connectivity and content delivery on LTE-Broadcast-capable devices, with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors. Developers will be able to access common APIs that can be used in all regions around the world and are in the trial or testing stage, or by deploying LTE Broadcast. The LTE Broadcast SDK has been tested with many operators, OEMs and application developers. To support the LTE Broadcast function on smart devices, Qualcomm has a package for evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS) that includes a Snapdragon processor, Qualcomm RaptorQ forward error correction technology, broadcast middleware, multimedia services, and an interface for LTE Broadcast application development.
